Any time the fluid carries fiber, rags, bedding, or stringy solids — manure, screened wastewater, food-processing waste, digestate. A standard centrifugal pump ragging up and blocking is the single most common slurry-handling failure. The chopping system shears solids at the impeller before they reach the volute, so the pump keeps moving block-resistant flow. For clean liquids or low-solids transfer, a standard transfer pump is the more economical choice.

Tractor PTO is the workhorse for agricultural and lagoon duty where a tractor is already on site — lowest first cost, no electrical infrastructure, fully portable. Electric (TEFC) is the right call for fixed, continuous-duty installations where you want automation, VFD control, and the lowest cost per hour. Diesel makes sense for remote sites with no grid power that still need a self-contained, continuous-duty package. Share the duty cycle and site power and we'll spec the drive.

Mixing power scales with tank volume, solids concentration, and the mixing goal — homogenization, crust prevention, or full solids suspension all demand different energy input per unit volume. As a budget starting point we use installed-power-per-volume rules of thumb by service, then refine against tank geometry and rheology. Enter your best estimate in the configurator for a ballpark, and include tank dimensions and solids % in the notes so our team can confirm the right propeller diameter, shaft length, and motor.

Cast iron / ductile is the standard, economical choice for most manure and slurry service. Hardened chopping steel extends life where abrasive grit or heavy fiber accelerates wear. 304 stainless suits cleaner process and food-waste duty; 316 stainless is the call where chlorides or aggressive chemistry are present; duplex / Hardox is for the most abrasive, high-wear applications. When in doubt, share the fluid analysis and we'll match the metallurgy.
